Before you go ahead to change your UPI PIN see to it that you have:.
- On your smartphone and having installed the PhonePe App and in with your registered mobile number.
- For the app to function properly.
- In your phone is the Mobile Number which is registered with the Bank. This is key for OTP verification.
- Your debit card info in particular the last six digits and the expiry date.
How to Change UPI PIN in PhonePe: Step-by-Step Instructions
In most cases of changing a UPI PIN in PhonePe:.
Scenario 1: Sure you have your present UPI PIN and you want to change it.
- Open the PhonePe app on your phone.
- Tap the profile icon in the top left corner.
- Select “Bank Accounts” from the menu.
- Choose what bank account to change the UPI PIN of.
- Tap on “Change UPI PIN”.
- Enter your present UPI PIN at that time.
- Now enter your new UPI Pin (4 to 6 digits as per bank’s requirement).
- Enter your new UPI PIN to confirm.
- Tap “Submit”.
You will see a message which reports that your UPI PIN has been changed.
Scenario 2: You forgot your UPI PIN and want to reset it.
- Open the PhonePe App.
- Tap your avatar and go to “Bank Accounts.
- Of the accounts you have which you can’t remember the UPI PIN for.
- Tap on “Reset UPI PIN”.
- Please provide the last 4 digits of your debit card.
- Enter the expiry date (MM/YY format).
- We will send you an OTP to your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP.
- Set your new UPI PIN and confirm it.
Once we receive your submission your PIN will be reset.
Tips on Setting a Strong UPI PIN.
Your UPI PIN is a critical info to protect. Here are some best practices for the same:.
- Do not use easy to guess numbers such as 1234, 0000, or your birth year.
- Do not give out your UPI PIN to anyone which includes but not limited to our dear PhonePe or bank.
- Use a separate PIN which you do not use for any other apps or services.
- Do not store the PIN in your messages.
- Change your PIN periodically.
What do you do when you have issues changing your UPI PIN?
At times we see issues with network, incorrect info, or out of date app versions which may cause problems while you are trying to change your UPI PIN. Here’s what you can do:.
- Ensure Stable Internet: A poor quality internet connection may drop out at any time.
- Update PhonePe: Always use up to date app.
- Re-insert SIM Card: Make sure the SIM that is registered to your bank is in your phone and active.
- Clear App Cache: Go to your device settings and open up Apps section then PhonePe finally clear the cache.
- Contact PhonePe Support: If all else fails go to the “Help” section within the app for customer support or visit the PhonePe website.
